To Mindfang:

The ocean had grown to stir calmness over him during these past few years. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore and the feel of the cool breeze that brushed over him had been peaceful. And with how difficult it was to find peace anywhere these days, he counted it as a blessing. The Summoner had lost count of how many times he came to this particular spot, sitting upon the same rock he always had. It was hard for him to find time alone, so when he had he would always find himself running off here, where few others could find him.
He closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath and giving way to the silence that surrounded. His posture relaxed as he waited.
There was a reason he was here of course. The only reason why he'd sneak away from his men time and time again when no one was looking. A woman. And he was sure they were all going about spreading rumors and laughs about his trips out. It wasn't like they were idiots.
But at the same time she was no ordinary woman. Marquise Spinneret Mindfang, scourge of the seven seas, terror to any troll who crossed her. Chances were his men would flip a their thinkpans if the ever found out that she was one of their key informants. He chuckled to himself at the thought, loosing himself within his own wandering mind and the sound of the ocean, not knowing that the reason for his visits had been standing all too close by.

Date: 2013-02-28 12:58 am (UTC)She missed him when she was away. The bed was too cool without his warmth, and too often she found herself with a comment she wanted to say to him, only to have long forgotten it by the time they met up again. And slowly the information was becoming harder to find, false leads spilling out and becoming hard to work out what was the actually truth.
She's been watching him for awhile, tucked up against the rocks, her black coat hiding her a little, making it hard to spot her. He looks so relaxed, and it lets he know that he's doing well, the fight isn't draining him too much. And so finally she stands, making her way down to him and curling her arms around him, careful of his wings as she hugs him from behind.
"Fancy seeing you here..."

"Small world I suppose," He grinned, his eyes closed as his head tilted back to rest against her chest. Her scent subtle as it mixed with that of the ocean. "Who would've guessed we'd end up running into one another."
That was bullshit and he knew it. This had been one of their usual meetups, for both business and fun alike, but what enjoyment was there in taking everything so seriously?
His eyes opened, glancing up at her casually. "Looking as damn sexy as ever I see."

"Oh it's not that tiny. I have the maps." Lazily her hand strokes over his shoulder, thumb running down his chest in a pattern only she knows. "And I never really have believed in coincidences. They're too easy to make happen."
But still she laughs, soft and warm. He amuses her, as much as she loves and pities her, and that gives him the ability to act like an idiot at times to her. He was her sappy idiot.
She smirks a little at that, giving him his own look down. "Not too bad yourself, my sweet."

Date: 2013-03-23 09:53 pm (UTC)Naturally it had all been explained the day his wings emerged. Not that he had shown anyone after it had happened, but at least it had made sense. And until the day came that he defied his commanding officers for both the first and final time he had kept them hidden.
His mind snapped back. Suddenly focused upon the presence of Mindfang's breath against the back of his neck. It relaxed him, the familiar presence she held. The fearsome Marquise Spinneret Mindfang, a woman with the reputation to strike worry into the core of many, was the one woman he knew he could trust everything with. It was ironic really. She was the one single troll he felt he could turn his back on and not worry it would cause harm.
He smiled. His head tilting back just a little, he rested against her happily. Simply enjoying the sound of her voice and the familiar ring in her laugh.
"Missed you."

The next words are a little more important, a bigger step in what they have. If she really does go through with this plan it'll mean she'll be following him, finding a way to integrate herself properly into his life. But she wants that. She wants to wake up to his face every night, instead of her empty 'coon.
"In fact... I've been thinking I might leave the sea behind..."

Sitting up straight, barely restraining himself from turning around to face her all together. Last thing he wanted to do was hit her. Not during such conversation. "Leave? What do you mean leave?"
He slowed, remembering to keep patient and careful as he turned to meet her gaze with his.
"Is something wrong?"

Her shrug is lazy, even as she flops back when he straightens up. She really doesn't see what the surprise is, why would she stay on the sea when she'd rather be with him, when her fleet has never grown as great as it had been. "What do you think the word leave means? I would go away from the sea, let someone else have a chance at it all."
She meets his gaze, eyes half lidded even as she reaches up, tracing his jaw with metal fingers.
"Nothing's wrong. It's just... not the same. The Neophyte burnt my fleet to the ground, and frankly I'm not that interested in trying to make it the same. The sea is boring when you've seen it all." A teasing smile, as she chucks him under the chin with her fingers. "What, don't you want me to be around more? Wake up with my face next to yours?"

Date: 2013-04-18 10:47 pm (UTC)"You really mean it hun?" Dark brown eyes met hers, not at all seeming to mind the cool touch of metal against his skin. If anything it had oddly enough grown into a form of comfort. His head tilting slightly as to further expose the thick muscle of his neck. "I mean, it was your life wasn't it? You used to always talk back so fondly about it."
Despite the playful tone she took he seemed as serious as ever.
"But, seriously, you're seriously sayin' you don't mind leaving the sea for me?"
This was the most romantic thing he's heard her say yet.
