What took him most off was how casual she had reacted to the entire decision. It was as if it were something long thought out, like this was a plan she was absolutely determined to go through with.
"You really mean it hun?" Dark brown eyes met hers, not at all seeming to mind the cool touch of metal against his skin. If anything it had oddly enough grown into a form of comfort. His head tilting slightly as to further expose the thick muscle of his neck. "I mean, it was your life wasn't it? You used to always talk back so fondly about it."
Despite the playful tone she took he seemed as serious as ever.
"But, seriously, you're seriously sayin' you don't mind leaving the sea for me?"
This was the most romantic thing he's heard her say yet.
